Engineering Construction and Projects Unit – College of Education for Human Sciences
The Engineering Construction and Projects Unit aims to be an active and effective unit that plays a primary role in developing the college’s infrastructure by integrating modern technologies and advanced construction systems into the college buildings. This aligns with the ambitions of the College of Education for Human Sciences, a young college established through a split from the College of Education at the University of Hamdaniya by a decision from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The unit is considered vital due to its responsibility for multiple buildings, laboratories, and public facilities, all designed with a modern, progressive vision that meets the requirements of the university environment. One of the unit’s main priorities is to implement the university’s future vision on the ground, keeping pace with scientific progress and accommodating the increasing number of admitted students by constructing new units according to international standards.
The unit operates with a forward-looking vision, striving to achieve its goals based on available resources through effective planning, high-quality execution, and meticulous project management within established timelines.
Vision:
To develop a fully integrated college in all aspects, including buildings, lecture halls, and laboratories, capable of accommodating students and projected increases in enrollment. The vision includes keeping pace with global architectural and urban development trends to graduate students with high academic and educational competence, equipped for professional opportunities and contributing to scientific advancement, while envisioning a more culturally developed campus community that meets global standards.
Mission:
To define the unit’s activities in alignment with the college’s future needs, by preparing strategic plans, establishing and equipping new buildings, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and health in design, and applying international standards to ensure quality outputs. The mission also aims to create a sustainable and stimulating environment for college staff and students, following the best global practices in civil and architectural engineering and related fields, and developing plans to elevate the college to advanced levels in all respects.
Objectives:
- Prepare and oversee engineering project plans, ensuring execution meets the highest quality standards.
- Monitor and apply the latest global engineering standards in future college projects to create an attractive and distinguished university environment.
- Develop engineering expertise through participation in workshops, training, and benchmarking experiences from other universities to enhance the college’s construction and projects units and achieve higher rankings.
- Integrate academic and practical aspects by providing opportunities for engineering students to engage in projects, enhancing both theoretical and practical skills.
- Prepare and graduate highly competent staff capable of contributing to the development of the college and advancing it to higher levels, while supervising the construction of modern, advanced facilities that meet the evolving needs of academic departments, research centers, and administrative units.
- Renovate and upgrade existing buildings and departments by adding floors, rehabilitating old structures, and fulfilling department and unit requirements through annual plans prepared by all college departments, approved, and translated into building and operational needs, implemented under the direct supervision of the College Dean.
