The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Al-Hamdaniya, held on Monda (October 13, 2025) a scientific workshop entitled “Modern Aesthetics: A Reading of the Foundational Moment.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Hilal Mohammed Jihad, following an introduction by Professor Dr. Ammar Ahmed Abdul-Baqi, and attended by a number of the department’s faculty members and students, along with the Head of the Department of Arabic Language.

The workshop was also attended in part by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Jasim Abbas Mohsen, and the Administrative Assistant, Lecturer Ammar Yelda Kromi, who emphasized the importance of such activities in developing aesthetic appreciation and enhancing critical thinking among students.

The workshop discussed the major concepts and theoretical foundations upon which modern aesthetics was established, highlighting its early formative moments and prominent pioneers, in addition to clarifying its impact on contemporary literary and intellectual studies.
